The hematopathology consultation service in the Department of Pathology at the University of Iowa provides an integrated lymphoma diagnostic service. The consultation service includes morphologic interpretation and classification of lymphoid proliferations, both reactive and neoplastic.
Supportive ancillary studies such as immunohistochemistry; flow cytometry; molecular and cytogenetic studies are incorporated into the diagnostic work up of specimens, on a case by case basis. Consultation service also provides support for ongoing patient care and follow up as needed.
Our hematopathologists are available for consultation on questions related to diagnosis and specimen handling issues.
Turn around time is 2-4 days with a preliminary result available on the day the specimen is received.
Requisition Form: Please fully complete, print and send a Comprehensive Hematopathology Requisition with your specimens.
